History

Established in 2005.

Throughout their travels in the Caribbean, Ray and Valerie Russenberger always sought out unique bars and grills that were off the beaten path…”holes in the wall,” if you will. Determined to start their own unique place, the couple began collecting an eclectic mix of nautical decor for their own future hole in the wall. Antique buoys, oars, and other furnishings piled up, waiting for their debut at the Russenberger’s future bar and grill. Ray and Valerie had even already chosen a location–the site of the old Pensacola drawbridge, overlooking Bahia Mar Marina. Through hurricanes, fires, and oil-spills, The Oar House has kept right on serving up seafood, cocktails, and a quirky sense of humor.
